Managing Director, Heraeus Medical GmbH

Dr. André Kobelt was born in 1961 in Marbach, Switzerland. After earning a PhD in Chemistry at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich and simultaneously completing postgraduate studies in Business Administration at the University of Zürich, he started his professional career with F. Hoffmann-La Roche in Basel as a pharmaceutical marketing trainee. Roche later transferred him to its Tokyo affiliate.

Four years into his residency in Asia, Dr. Kobelt transferred to the life sciences industry, with a focus on orthopedics. As VP Asia he launched and grew a dozen subsidiaries for Synthes in Asia.

Dr. Kobelt returned to Europe in 1999, where he switched over to the dental industry, first as General Manager Medical & Dental for Metalor, and later as COO for Coltene-Whaledent.

In 2005, Dr. Kobelt joined Heraeus Medical GmbH and became its Managing Director in 2007.

Dr. André Kobelt is married and has two children.
