Graduate Medical Education: Resident/Fellow/Young Practicing Surgeon Program – Sponsored by Heraeus Medical

Graduate Medical Education (GME) serves as the bedrock of clinical and surgical proficiency, empowering residents, fellows, and young surgeons with the skills and knowledge focused on cement and PJI management. Heraeus Medical is committed to delivering impactful, hands-on, and knowledge-rich educational opportunities. Through a partnership with institutions, young practitioners, and esteemed surgeons, we aim to provide accessible, high-quality learning experiences that enhance professional growth and foster long-term improvements in orthopedic practice.

As part of the company’s commitment to education and clinical excellence, we believe that continuous education is integral to enhancing patient outcomes and advancing surgical care. Our programs are designed with the core mission of supporting the next generation of surgeons with hands-on training, expert mentorship, and opportunities to apply innovative orthopedic solutions.

Programs Overview

The Heraeus Medical Graduate Medical Education (GME) program is designed to provide residents, fellows, and young surgeons with hands-on, specialized training in orthopedic care, with a particular focus on bone cement application and implant techniques. Central to the program is the PALACADEMY® GME Program for young surgeons, which offers an immersive, small-group course for young surgeons to enhance their understanding of cement properties and periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) prevention and treatment. Through in-person and virtual training, participants gain both didactic and practical experience, delving into topics like cementing best practices, advanced surgical techniques, and relevant case studies to troubleshoot common challenges.

Beyond PALACADEMY® events, Heraeus Medical sponsors numerous resident and fellow society meetings and educational events, where attendees benefit from lectures, workshops, and interactive discussion forums. Additionally, programs like the Virtual Surgeon to Surgeon (VS2S) connect young surgeons with established professionals, fostering knowledge exchange and skill refinement. Journal clubs and Key Opinion Leader (KOL) events create a platform for in-depth discussions on the latest orthopedic research and innovations, empowering young practitioners to optimize patient outcomes and advance their surgical proficiency.
