The project: A children's playground in Wehrheim was getting on in years and only offered limited play fun suitable for children. The association Spielplatz Franzensbader Straße e.V. asked local companies, including Heraeus Medical, for support. After the first on-site meeting, it quickly became clear to everyone - we're tackling this together.
"For Heraeus Medical, it is natural to get involved in the community and give something back. The response from the workforce was very positive right from the start and many wanted to be involved in the project," says Nicole Petermann, Managing Director of Heraeus Medical GmbH.
Gregor Sommer, mayor of Wehrheim, praised the commitment of all those involved: "The activities of the Franzensbader Straße e.V. playground association have really given the playground a new lease of life. I am extremely grateful to the association and especially to the initiative of Heraeus Medical."
Unfortunately, the original idea of the "Social Day" could not take place as planned due to the pandemic and the staff assignment had to be cancelled. In the end, the municipality provided support and had the playground equipment, which was co-financed by Heraeus Medical and eagerly awaited, installed by the expert team from the Wehrheim municipality.
"The new playground with its colourful equipment is very well received by the children and their parents," Jana Sibold and Christine Schade from the Franzensbader Straße e.V. playground association are pleased to say. Gregor Sommer also gives free rein to his enthusiasm: "The playground is a dream and every adult would like to be a child here again. A big thank you also to the staff of the Wehrheim municipality and ultimately to all the donors".
